Driver Education

The Vigo County School Corporation offers Driver Education at Terre Haute North Vigo, Terre Haute South Vigo, and West Vigo High Schools. The program is offered once per year and takes place in two parts: a classroom portion in the spring and a driving portion in the summer. The classroom portion takes place in the evening two nights per week in March and April. Students complete six drive times in the summer after school gets out. The cost for the program is $300 or $285 if the student is on free or reduced lunch. Students must be 15 years of age or older before the class starts to participate.

The VCSC does not accept the completion of an online driver education program in place of the classroom portion. Students must complete the classroom portion with the VCSC prior to participating in the driving portion.

Applications are made available in the guidance office at each high school when students return from winter break in January.
