Mr. Daniel Tanoos (Class of 1975)

Daniel will be retiring as Superintendent of the Vigo County Schools in July of 2018, a position to which he was appointed in 1998. He previously served as Principal of Chauncey Rose Middle School (1992-98), Principal of Farrington Grove Elementary School (1988-92), Principal and of Fairbanks and Greenwood Elementary School (1985-1987), and as a teacher at Ben Franklin Elementary School from 1979 to 1985. His awards include: Vigo County Education Foundation Excellence in Education Award, Greater Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce Terre Award for Outstanding Service to the Community, Indiana Association of School Principals/District VIII Principal of the Year, and graduate of the Indiana Principal Leadership Academy. Daniel developed one of Vigo County’s first Professional Development School sites with Indiana State University, and co-developed an exchange program with Tajimi, Japan, children’s choir and Vigo County School Corporation.
